Where in the World...?

(A snapshot of Elder Meyer's flat in Terenure, taken from Google Maps)

Well I am emailing you from Dublin!

We had our moves call and I am staying in Terenure with Elder Rollins.

We are together again which is good! I am happy that I am staying. I will be able to get to know the members a wee bit more. So we are both happy that we are both staying together we already know each other and we will be able to go out and continue to do our best in this area.

I am grateful that the lord still wants me here in Terenure. Everything is going well, I am happy with everything. It is going to a great moves! We are going to see some success! I can feel it.

Happy Birthday Elder Meyer!

Snippet from Elder Meyer's email on October 21st, 2013:

Thank you all so much for all the birthday wishes! I had a good day. Being Sunday, it was nice to be at church although it did just seem like any other day on a mission. There was a 'munch and mingle' after church. One of the sister missionaries told the ward mission leader that it was my birthday and the ward mission leader told everyone so the whole ward sang 'happy birthday' to me, so that was good of them to do that.

But I got the package, thank you for that! I really liked what I got. I loved the video that you sent. It seemed a wee bit loud and my companion and other missionaries heard it. I still love how Sarah's always stands out. I love it. So it was a good day, we saw a member and tried by some people, and had dinner at the flat.

And just because we love you and didn't forget to celebrate Elder Meyer's Birthday here at home.

I love this Gospel.

Snippet from Elder Meyer's email on 7th October 2013:

To top off the week, we watched General Conference on the weekend. We watched some live sessions which were good. I love general conference. I loved learning from our beloved prophet and apostles who lead and guide us in these latter days. The messages were good to hear. I hope you all go and watch General Conference and learn something from our prophet and apostles. It is so great that we have a prophet on this earth, who leads and guides the church and that he stands in for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. And that he recieves revelation to know exactly what Heavenly Father's children need to do in this life to be able to get back into Him and Jesus Christ's presence. This gospel is so great! I love it so much.

I learnt about Faith in my personal study this morning and I realised that faith is so important and that we need to have that faith in Jesus Christ, and along with repentance, and baptism and recieving the gift of the holy ghost and enduring to the end, we will be able to recieve salvation in the life to come. We are still working with our investigators and trying our best to help them progress. We gave a priesthood blessing to a non-member. We told her about a blessing and we gave her one. It was a great experience and it is great that I have the priesthood and am worthy to use it.

Bad Week turned Good.

Snippet from Elder Meyer's email on 23/09/13:

So it wasn't the best week at the beginning. We had been trying by some people that were interested in the Gospel but we couldn't get a hold of them. We knocked on some doors instead and were getting a lot of rejections. I was getting a wee bit frustrated at this and the fact that my speech hasn't been the best lately with all that I stutter with. So we were walking along the street and Elder Rollins said that I should stop this person that was coming towards us as she needs the Gospel in her life. So I grudgingly thought ok and stopped her. Her name is Leah and she is from Boston in America. She is a nice girl and listened to what we had to say. She liked what she was hearing, so we gave her a Book of Mormon and made a return appointment for Saturday.

We went and saw you on Saturday and she had some questions that we tried our best to answer for her. She really enjoyed the lesson and we could all feel of the spirit. Since then, she has come to church and loved it. So we have found another who is interested in the Gospel which really brightened up the week!

Promoted to Senior?

So I know you are all wondering what happened with moves call...

Well, I will be staying with Elder Rollins in Terenure. I am going to be the Senior Companion. (A senior companian is responsible for making the decisions prompted by the Holy Spirit regarding the companionship). I am happy about that as I love Elder Rollins. He is great to be around and He has such a great personality. I love him.

Sometimes I was a little jealous that Elder Gill, my other companion in our 'three-way' companionship, gets to go home. But then I realise that it will be my turn soon. That time will eventually come and I need to focus on my mission and not get distracted. And by doing this, I will continue to love my mission and love the people here in the Scotland and Ireland mission.

It is sometimes weird being back in a two-some again. It seemed like even though it wasn't for very long, I forgot what it was like. But it will be alright. I am with someone that I like and we get along well with each other.

So here's to another great moves with Elder Rollins.

Families are Forever.

A short testimony from Elder Meyer on Families: (02/09/13)

I feel at peace when I read your emails and that I will be able to be there for you all, even though I am miles and miles away. I will always be there for my family, I love my family so so much, and if there is any help needed I will always be there for everyone. How great it is to have the gospel in our lives!I think that having the gospel in our lives has helped our family come so much closer together and that we are all unified. I am so happy that I am able to be with my family for eternity. I really love that, and that after this life there will be more and it won't just end there after we die. It will be just the beginning! I love the gospel so much. I treasure it so much, and being out on my mission makes me realise how this gospel is so important. I want to be active my whole life and continue to do my missionary work throughout my life.

Famous for My Tim Tam Slams.

Whilst Elder Meyer has been away, he has introduced many of his companians to the famous Australian Tim Tam slam. None of them can resist as Elder Meyer is constantly asking for more to be sent over. Between these delicious treats and the fudgy-wudgy chocolate chip cookies he makes, who wouldn't want to be Elder Meyer's companion? Seriously.
