Will I Stay? Will I Go?

I am loving it here in Terenure! We have moves call next Sunday so next Monday I will be letting you know either if I will be leaving or staying in Terenure. I think one of us will be moving because we have been together for 3 moves now.. so I think one of us will be leaving which is going to be sad! I have loved serving with Elder Rollins. He is a great missionary, I love him and we have gained such a great friendship with each other. I will miss his companionship!

Celebrating Thanksgiving.

This week we celebrated thanksgiving. We were over at a members home for the occasion.  We had turkey and mash potatoes, and some pie as well. Not pumpkin pie though, but we did have some pumpkin pie given to us by the senior couple in Dublin, they were nice in giving it to us, I haven't eaten my piece yet. Yesterday at a members home we had some pumpkin pie for desert it was really good, I would love to come back to Australia and celebrate thanksgiving, it is a great time of the year a great day of the year.

Zone Conference in Dublin.

It has been a good week for me and Elder Rollins. We had a zone conference last Thursday, it was a good day. We were able to receive some training from our leaders and the mission president. I was able to learn of things that I can do to improve our areas and also what I can do myself to be the best in this work. This will help us to really find those people that are prepared for baptism. So it was a good day.

Well I am emailing you from Dublin!

We had our moves call and I am staying in Terenure with Elder Rollins.

We are together again which is good! I am happy that I am staying. I will be able to get to know the members a wee bit more. So we are both happy that we are both staying together we already know each other and we will be able to go out and continue to do our best in this area.

I am grateful that the lord still wants me here in Terenure. Everything is going well, I am happy with everything. It is going to a great moves! We are going to see some success! I can feel it.

Multicultural Dublin

It is a really interesting place here in Dublin. There are lots of foreigners as I have met some people that are from Africa, Romania, Brazil, Latvia, America and lots of other countries. It's interesting. It seems like a really good area. I think I am going to enjoy it here. The ward is a wee bit smaller than Liff, and Lisburn. There are some foreigners in the ward as well, which is good to get to know them and where they come from and all that.

The past few days I have been getting to know about the area and seeing some of the people we are going to teach. There are some Africans, we also teach a guy from Brazil named Guilherme. In this area, because there are lots of people from different countries, there is a member in the ward that puts on Free English classes so people can come and learn English for free. This has been a great teaching tool as we can talk with people in Dublin city and advertise these classes. It has given us a chance to talk to more people.

Achieving Our Goals!

This week was a busy week doing the Lord's work. President Brown spoke with Elder Gill and set a challenge with him to get 20 joint teachers to an investigators lesson. So that means 20 members present in the lesson to an investigator. So after setting that goal this past week, we were able to do 21 member present lessons! We achieved our goal and we were able to do an extra one! It has been such a good week going on splits with the members of the Terenure Ward. They are excellent at having members come out with us to teach. This is the first area that people have been really willing to come out with us. In my other areas, not a whole lot of members would come out to teach with us. So that has been a blessing! And the lessons I feel we taught were solid lessons. They were not wasted. I have just felt the spirit so much this week! I love doing thy work!

My companions names are Elder Gill and Elder Rollins. Elder Gill is from England, from Newcastle in England. He was my zone leader in Belfast, so I knew him from before. Elder Gill is funny, he is cheeky sometimes. Elder Rollins and I will be killing of Elder Gill as this is his last transfer and he goes home at the end of the six weeks, so I am killing off another missionary. Elder Rollins, he is from Colorado and he has been out 6 months on his mission. Elder Rollins is a nice missionary, he is sensible.

It seems very different in a trio with 2 other companions. I have to get use to it as we have only been together for a few days so it's just the starting stages. I will have to get used to the new area also, but I think after a while it will be fine and I will love it just like everywhere else I have served.

ELDER MEYER HAS MOVED TO...

The Republic of IRELAND.

 

Elder Meyer has recently been transferred to an area called Terenure in Dublin, Ireland. So to recapture his travels thus far, refer to the following map. He has served in a total of three areas, each within a new country. This means Elder Meyer has been to all three countries included in his mission area. 

 

Now I know you are all wondering what happened with moves call. Well Elder Burt is staying and he will be training a new missionary whilst I will be moving. I am moving to a place called Terenure, in Ireland. It is near Dublin. So I am going to the Republic of Ireland! I am excited to serve there. I will be serving in a trio this time, so with 2 other missionaries. One is Elder Gill, who I know. He was my zone leader in Belfast. He is from England. The other missionary's name is Elder Rollins. I don't know much about him as he might be recently new on his mission. So I am happy I am going there, but I am sad that I am leaving this area of Dundee. I have enjoyed this area and I am going to miss it, but I can't wait to come back after my mission and see it all again. I hate the fact that I have to pack now and I only have 2 days till I move. I want to go say goodbye to people as well, so it is going to be a busy 2 days doing all that.
