Summer in Scotland.

So while the weather is getting colder for you in Australia, it is finally getting warmer here in Scotland. It is so great. I love the warmer weather and it just makes me a whole lot happier. There have been some really nice days where we have enjoyed being outside. I love it. 

We even had the chance to enjoy it all in a convertible ride with my companion, Elder O'Bagy and some YSA in the Liff Ward. Here are a few photos.

Mother's Day Skype Session

I'm not entirely sure about Elder Meyer, but we had been waiting for this call for months. In fact, ever since we ended the last call on Christmas Day. This chat was extra special as it was on Mother's Day! What a wonderful gift for mum to talk to and see her boy with the amazing technology of today. Through lots of laughs, news shared and genuine family time, we were able to snap a few pictures to share with you all.

I will be "Killing Him Off"

I know that you are all wondering what has happened with moves call this week...

Well, I am staying in this area. My companion Elder O'Bagy is staying with me for the last transfer of his mission. I will be "killing him off"... as they say in the mission field. This just means he will be finishing his life here in the mission and head back home to America at the end of this transfer. Elder O'Bagy will be the first companion I serve with for a total of 3 transfers. I am really happy about this decision that Heavenly Father has made. It is the right thing for us. Elder O'Bagy is so so so so happy also. He loves this area and loves me as a companion  So all in all, we are pretty excited for the next transfer together.

New Companion, Elder O'Bagy

So I made it. I am here in Dundee, Scotland. I am serving in a ward called Liff with my new companion Elder O'Bagy. I travelled over with some other missionaries. We caught the ferry over, which was good. I have been feeling pretty nervous lately. I am trying to get used to this new area and my new companion, which seems like a lot at once. It's like a double wammie. Kind of like when I first arrived in Ireland from the MTC. The past couple of days have been hard. I miss Lisburn and everyone there! But I am sure everything with work out and settle down soon.

My companion Elder O'Bagy seems nice. He is very talkative, funny, and loud. Which I will need to get used to because then there is me who is the quiet and shy person. Elder O'Bagy has 4 months left on his mission so he goes home in June! So far, I think the members are great here in Liff Ward. They seem really nice. I am excited to get to know them. And I do love the Scottish accent!! It is so cool.

So in my new area, I have already participated in a confirmation, where someone just got baptised right before I moved into the area. We took the sacrament to a member in the hospital, where we then came back later to give the lady a blessing. It was a great experience!

ELDER MEYER IS GOING TO...

SCOTLAND!

This week is transfers (moves), and Elder Meyer has been called to serve in Scotland, in a town called Dundee, just north of the capital Edinburgh.

"I know you all are wondering what happened with moves. Well, I will be moving to Scotland! I will be serving in a place called Dundee. Ahh, I have mixed feelings right now. I am excited to be going to a new area and going to Scotland but then at the same time I am definitely going to miss it here in Lisburn. I have come to love this area and love the ward members! Yesterday at church, I got a couple of photos with some of the families and everyone wished me luck. I will be leaving this Wednesday and travelling over on the ferry to Scotland. My new companions name is Elder O'Bagy. I don't know much about him, but I have heard that he has been out the same amount of time as Elder O'Rourke, so like a year and a half. I hear he is very talkative and funny. So hopefully everything works out with us. "

"Tonight Elder White and I will be going out to dinner with the young men which will be fun, spending my last moments with them. I was telling most people yesterday that I am defiantly coming back to Lisburn, I WILL BE BACK, hahaha. I am excited to show you guys around Scotland and Ireland one day after my mission. It is going to be great, you guys are going to love it. So yeah I am moving on, going onto Scotland. I love the Scottish accent! I have heard it is hard to understand, but after a while I might get used to it. Maybe it will be like learning a new language. I'm sure it will be very different to the Northern Ireland accent. Well, I have enjoyed serving with Elder White. He is a great missionary, I love him. We have had some great times together which I will always remember. So Elder White will be training a new missionary in Lisburn. I am excited for him, he will make a great trainer."

"I am grateful for all the friends that I am making on my mission and for the fact that after my mission, I will be able to go see them and hang out with them all. I am excited for the friendships that I have made. It is wonderful. Anyways, I better go and get myself packed and enjoy the last days in Lisburn."
