MOVES CALL!

We got our moves call last night! And I am staying here in Galway. I wonder if I will be staying here for much longer. Who knows. Maybe I will stay here for the rest of my mission. I will be getting a new companion as Elder McDonald will be leaving. He is going back up to Belfast in an area called Holywood. He is going to be the District Leader up there.

My new companion will be Elder Wightman. I have met him before briefly, so it should be good. Can you believe that I only have three more moves left. I wonder what will happen throughout the rest of my mission! I can't believe how quick it has gone. I will be back before I know it. I will try to do my best and do all that I can do for the rest of my mission.

Counselling with our Leaders!

Snippet from Elder Meyer's email sent January 13th 2014:

Well this past week has been a good one! Last Tuesday we had zone interviews and we spoke with President Brown. It was so good to speak with him. I love President Brown, he is a great mission president. And we received some training from our mission leaders which was great. A lot of things I am going to take on board with me during my mission. I want to be able to work harder at the things I am doing here in Galway.

On Saturday we had a Blitz in our area and it was sort of like an exchange, as the district leader had to go on exchange with Elder McDonald, and I went with the District leaders companion. We were both in Galway so it was like a split. So it has been a good week for me! I have really enjoyed working with the local leaders we have in the Church here in Galway.

A Day in the Life of a Missionary during the Holidays.

Christmas Day:

Skyping with the family at the Wilson's would definitely have to be the highlight! After the Wilson's we met with a guy we met on the streets a couple of weeks ago. We came with cookies that the other missionaries had made and gave them to him. We stayed with him for about an hour before we went to visit some other members. There we had Christmas dinner. We had turkey, ham, mash potato, peas, stuffing and more. It was so good! While we were there, the other missionaries skyped with their families. Then in the evening we went to visit another family, where we played a game of Taboo. It was so fun.

Boxing Day:

Then yesterday for Boxing Day, we went back to the Wilson's again and were able to watch some movies. We saw Tangled, Santa Clause, Madagascar (the first one) and The Incredibles. Then we went to another members home for dinner and watched Despicable Me 2.

New Years Day:
We started the day out by doing a wee bit of service. We cleaned out this guys house. Then we went to a family's home where we watched some more movies. We saw Brave, The Princess Bride, Hotel Transylvania and School of Rock.

It has been hard having these days off. I have really enjoyed them but it is back to work now. There have been a lot of people that have been away over the holidays so it will be nice to get together with people again. But very hard at the same time!
